The Maca plant grows in the Andes of Peru at high altitudes. The plant is also known as Peruvian ginseng and Lepidium meyenii. The root of the maca plant is what is used as a supplement and extract.

Maca is your one-stop shop for vitamins and minerals. Maca contains protein, fiber, vitamin C, copper, iron, potassium, vitamin B6, and manganese. The root increase libido in both men and women. Some studies also suggest that it can increase fertility in men. Maca can aid with relieving symptoms from menopause, such as interrupted sleep and hot flashes. The plant can improve mood and mental health by reducing anxiety and depression. Some studies also suggest that Maca can boost energy, exercise performance, and memory.
